14 venues. Split by whether the venue's own description mentions the sunset or only the view.
Every rooftop in Bangkok sells a view, and almost none of them agree on what you are buying. This page takes the fourteen venues the directory files as rooftops and splits them on one question that can actually be checked: does the venue's own description say anything about the sunset, or does it only talk about the skyline?
Seven do. Belga times its wine happy hour to the light going down over Sukhumvit. Heaven tells you to come early if you want a rail seat facing west. Octave says the 49th-floor table at sunset is the one everybody wants, and Tichuca's DJs open with calmer sunset sets before the terrace turns into a dance floor. Mandalay, Pastel and Attitude Fusion each build part of the evening around the same hour.
The other seven are still rooftops with real height, from the 39th floor at the Asok intersection to a small deck over the old town, but none of them makes a claim about the sunset and so neither does this page. The two groups are otherwise ordered alphabetically and nothing here is ranked.
A venue appears here only if the directory files it as a rooftop bar, a rooftop bar restaurant or a rooftop Thai restaurant bar. Nothing was added because its description happened to mention a view, and nothing was placed in the sunset group unless the word appears in the venue's own text.
This is every rooftop in the Weavify directory, not every rooftop in Bangkok. Price bands are recorded for only three of the fourteen, so the list carries closing times instead. Nothing on this page is ordered by a rating.
Seven venues that write the sunset into what they sell, whether that is a happy hour timed to it, a seat to book for it or a DJ set that opens with it.
On the 26th and 27th floors of Avani+ Riverside, looking straight across the Chao Phraya at Asiatique and its Ferris wheel. The outdoor deck is built around an LED bar floor that shifts colour after sunset, and the bar runs to 2am Monday through Saturday.

A Belgian brasserie on the 32nd floor of Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, with more than fifty Belgian beers and a wine happy hour from 5 to 7pm that its own description times to the light going down over the city.

The deck wraps the top of the Heaven Boutique Hotel in Silom Plaza for a 360-degree line of sight. Its own advice is to come before sunset if you want a rail seat facing west. Beers start around 120 baht, well under the five-star rooftops a few blocks south.

A Burmese-themed rooftop above Varindavan Park on Ekkamai 12, with an open-air deck its own description calls built for the sunset hour. Burmese pub snacks, the house Mandalay Sour, and traditional Burmese music and dance in the evenings.

Three floors of the Bangkok Marriott Sukhumvit, climbing from a 45th-floor open-air tapas restaurant to a circular 49th-floor sky bar. Its own guidance is to book ahead for a 49th-floor table at sunset, which it calls the window everyone wants.

Twenty-second floor of the Aira Hotel on Sukhumvit 11, about a hundred metres above the soi. It runs as a sunset aperitivo spot from 5pm, then hands over to resident DJs and live musicians after 11.

The top three floors of the 46-storey T-ONE Building on Sukhumvit 40, built around an LED tree that changes colour through the night. The resident DJs open with calmer sunset sets and push the terrace to a full dance floor by around 10pm.

Seven venues with real height and a skyline in their own description, and no claim about the hour before dark. They are listed for the roof, not for the light.
Twenty-eighth floor of Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit 24, with two open-air terraces, a vertical garden and a 180-degree run of skyline from Phrom Phong down toward Thong Lo. Signature cocktails are 280 baht and happy hour is 5 to 7 daily.

Thirty-ninth floor of The Continent Hotel at the Asok intersection, and the only entry here the directory files as a restaurant rather than a bar. The modern Thai kitchen runs to 11.30pm and the bar keeps pouring until 1.30.

An open-air deck above the flagship Cafe Amazon on Soi Phahon Yothin 7, looking over low-rise Ari rather than a tower cluster. Open 11am to midnight every day, which makes it as workable for a late lunch as for a nightcap.

Tenth floor of The Quartier Hotel on Sukhumvit 39, done as a 1980s throwback with string lights, graffiti walls, a pool and a wall that doubles as an outdoor cinema screen. Pet friendly, which is unusual at this altitude.

Thirty-second floor of Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong, wrapping the tower for a 360-degree view over Lumphini Park and the BTS tracks. Thai-Isaan meets Japanese in both kitchen and cocktails, with a sundown hour from 6 to 8pm.

A 1920s Prohibition concept across the 24th and 25th floors of Hotel Muse, reached by a staircase hidden behind a painting. Open-air terrace under a golden dome, and The Blind Pig cigar lounge one floor below.

The only entry on this page in the old town, reached through a concealed door above Olive Kitchen near Khao San. A slide between the two floors, a jumbo Jenga set by the bar, and a small deck over the Phra Nakhon rooftops.

Nine of the fourteen record a 2am close on at least one night: Attitude Fusion, Bangkok Heightz, Cul de Sac, Heaven Rooftop, Mandalay, Octave, Sato San, The Speakeasy and YABAR. Each card shows the latest closing time in that venue's own recorded hours, so check the venue page for the specific day.

No. The two groups are set by whether the sunset appears in the venue's own description, and inside each group the order is alphabetical. Nothing on this page is ordered by a rating or by price.
