11 places across Yaowarat (Chinatown), Bang Rak (Riverside), Charoenkrung and Rattanakosin (Riverside).
Chinatown & Riverside covers four neighbourhoods in Bangkok: Yaowarat, Bang Rak, Charoenkrung and Rattanakosin. Yaowarat is Chinatown itself, and Bang Rak and Rattanakosin are the riverside two. Five stations reach the group. Wat Mangkon, Hua Lamphong and Sanam Chai are MRT, Saphan Taksin is BTS, and Si Phraya Pier is a boat stop.
All eleven places here are restaurants, and prices run the full width of the range. At the cheap end, Nai Ek Roll Noodle sells kuay jab and rice with crispy pork. Tanbo Chicken Rice does khao man gai two ways, boiled and fried. Potong works century egg with caviar and char siu with Thai herbs into a Thai Chinese menu, while 80/20 in Charoenkrung builds its modern Thai cooking around fermented rice porridge and charcoal grilled fish. Bang Rak holds the top end. Sirocco grills wagyu ribeye, sears foie gras and mixes a Hangovertini; Mezzaluna sends out Hokkaido sea urchin, Murakami wagyu tenderloin and a chocolate sphere dessert.
Cheap restaurants in Yaowarat, Bangkok, sit several price bands below anything on the Bang Rak side. That gap is the real choice here. Eat cheaply in Chinatown, or pay Bang Rak prices for the riverside.
