Bars in Ekkamai & Phra Khanong

Ekkamai drinks beer. Four of the nine bars in Ekkamai and Phra Khanong, Bangkok listed here are craft beer bars, which is a heavier concentration than any other area on Weavify. Mikkeller opened here in January 2014 as the Danish brewery's first bar in Asia and pours thirty taps. Ekamai Beer House runs twenty taps over three floors of a rustic brick building. Hazy Hound keeps twelve rotating imports and a fridge of bottles, and Burbrit, down at Phra Khanong BTS, ships unpasteurised beer from its own microbrewery in Myanmar.

Iron Balls is a different proposition again: a working gin distillery with a copper still, pouring its own gin and running tours you can book in advance. Mandalay Rooftop sits above serviced residences on Ekkamai 12 Alley and is the only Burmese-themed roof in the city. Tiger Club styles itself as a 1990s gangster clubhouse, and Younger Bar works as a cafe by day before switching to cocktails.

Beer here is an early evening. All four beer bars close at or before midnight, and Burbrit opens at three in the afternoon. The late half of the list is the other five: Nunglenlen runs live Thai bands seven nights a week until three in the morning, and Iron Balls, Mandalay and Tiger Club all serve to two.
