Thai restaurants in Sukhumvit

Thai cooking in Sukhumvit, Bangkok skews expensive. Four of the seven kitchens here sit in the top price band and each one narrows to a region or a tradition rather than covering the whole country. Sorn works southern recipes, khua kling and stink beans with prawns, under a self-taught chef raised in Nakhon Si Thammarat. R-Haan cooks royal Thai and holds two Michelin stars. Baan Tepa serves a seasonal tasting menu from a house that belonged to the chef's grandmother. Bo.lan reopened in December 2023 after closing during the pandemic and took a star in the 2026 guide.

Below that band the register changes completely. The Local occupies a restored 1930s wooden building on Soi Sukhumvit 23 and has carried a Bib Gourmand for more than five years running. Cabbages & Condoms is the cheapest kitchen here and sends its profits to the rural development and family planning work of the PDA, whose founder started it.

The week has real gaps. Baan Tepa closes Mondays and Tuesdays, Bo.lan closes Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and Sorn closes Saturdays. On a Tuesday only four of these seven are cooking. Bangkok Heightz is the one that runs late, serving Thai food on a 39th-floor roof until two in the morning.
