Restaurants in Chinatown & Riverside

This list divides almost exactly in two. Six of the eleven restaurants are in Yaowarat (Chinatown), Bangkok, at street level and in shophouses: Nai Ek Roll Noodle, trading kuay jab since the 1960s and the cheapest kitchen on the page; HAGOW, serving Hong Kong-style dim sum over two floors; Tanbo Chicken Rice, open from seven in the morning; The Seafood Cafe inside Soi Texas; and Kodtalay, a riverfront seafood buffet at a fixed 693 baht net. Potong occupies a 200-year-old family shophouse that was a Chinese herbal pharmacy from 1910.

The other five are up in the air or on the water. Breeze sits across the 51st and 52nd floors of State Tower and is reached over a lit skybridge; Sirocco and Mezzaluna are in the same building. The Deck at Arun Residence trades the height for one of the more direct views of Wat Arun, and 80/20 works modern Thai out of Charoen Krung.

Hours are uneven here. Tanbo opens earliest and Nai Ek runs latest, to midnight. Three close a day each week: 80/20 on Mondays and Tuesdays, Potong on Wednesdays, and Mezzaluna on Sundays.
