Indian food in Bangkok splits along a clear line, and the nine restaurants here sit on either side of it. Four are around Khao San and Samsen, cheap and open long: Delight runs twenty-four hours a day, Tikka N Talk serves butter chicken and garlic naan until two in the morning, Taste of India opens until half past eleven, and Malar cooks a Thai-Indian menu with the spice level set to order.
The other four are on Sukhumvit and cook at the opposite end. Gaa is run by Garima Arora, who trained at Noma and became the first Indian woman to hold a Michelin star, then two. Gaggan reverted to its original name in 2024 and serves a menu built around dishes like Yoghurt Explosion. Charcoal Tandoor Grill pairs a tandoor with a cocktail programme designed by a New York mixologist, and Indus has been serving north and regional Indian food from a 1960s Art Deco villa since 2005.
Indian Express in Ratchathewi sits between the two, a 120-seat room with an open kitchen serving biryani and butter chicken to midnight. Only one restaurant on this page closes a day: Gaggan, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
2 of the 9 stay open past midnight: Delight Indian Restaurant and Tikka N Talk Indian Restaurant. Not open every day: Gaggan Anand (closed Tue and Wed).
